When was the last time your daily healthy snack inspired you or brought out some sort of awe or had a heavenly feeling at the sight & bite of it? You get to visualize delightful snacking memories hitherto. Most of the crowd wouldn’t have experienced a mouth-watering hale and hearty snacking moment. This is in view of the fact that, you would scarcely have tried healthier options or it would seem very dull & boring. Especially with my munchkins, I have experienced the same dull look on their face as well. Healthy snack nerds are people who are so fond of and so enthusiastic to healthy snacking. Their degree of devotion and involvement is high. Here is a nerdy take on culinary art, healthy snacks in particular.
Some would have experienced a number of hunger prangs. Don’t panic, this is natural; the body needs more nutrients to grow as it should. Snacks are a terrific way to satisfy that hunger and get all the vitamins and nutrients your body needs. In fact, if you have a hectic schedule, it's even more important to eat healthy snacks that give you the fuel you need to keep going. Healthy snacking is not about possessing strict dietary limitations, staying unrealistically thin or starving for days with fat free foods. Rather it is all about being energetic, feeling awesome, have a great outlook and mentally balanced.
When someone suggests of snack, some dieters happily accept it, while others feel pangs of guilt when a snack is merely suggested. The reason behind is that they consider snack to be coworkers of weight gain. However, a healthy snack has its own benefits. Snacks can even be added to weight loss plan as well. The trick is to choose a 100 calorie snack, which is a mix of carbohydrate, protein & healthy fats, and aim to consume it half the way between your meals. C’est tout!
What snack do I have? The truth about this snacking question might not be as simple as you think. I, being a nerd in healthy snack consumption, have come up with 5 tasty healthy snack recipes for you to munch on.
Apple ladybug: Cut the apple into two halves, and place it on the plate. Then apply peanut butter or butter over the apple, in order to stick raisins over it. Also stick one end of the Ragi crispies on the apple to make it look like the ladybug’s antenna. I usually ask my son to try this and he enjoys crunching this ladybug.
Mango papaya salsa: It is otherwise called the summer salsa. Dice mango and papaya fruit and put it in a bowl. Mix pepper to it with generous sprinkle of sassy seeds. Refrigerate before consuming. Summer salsa is ready. You could always combine a fiber rich food like fruits & veggies with protein rich ones viz., nuts, peanut butter and Flapjacks to keep up the energy levels.
Chickpeas roast: The perfect combo of carbohydrates & protein lies in roasted chickpeas. A handful of this over a leafy salad would be a wonderful snack delight.
Dry fruit pan cake (my version): Beat an egg until they fluff, then add three table spoons of wheat flour, salt & Dry fruits . Now pour a ladle full of wet flour on to the tawa ; drizzle two drops of oil and cover it with a lid. After three minutes, open d lid and take it out without flipping. Voila! A healthy snack in five minutes!
Healthy ice cubes : Freeze fresh unsweetened fruit juice along with few seeds on ice cube tray. Add these healthy ice cubes with water in a glass. A sip of this would go well with ragi twisters/bittergourd crakers Yum! And the healthiest snack ever. Love to indulge in this snack.

Think of snacks as mini meals between meals. You can fit snack calories into your personal healthy eating plan without over-spending your day’s calorie budget.
• Snack only when you’re hungry. Skip the urge to crave when you’re bored, frustrated or stressed.
• Plan snacks ahead of time. Keep a variety of nutritious ready-to-eat supplies on hand. Am sure snackexperts do have a wide array of snacks for you to munch on.
• Make it interesting. Healthy snacks needn’t have to be boring as long as you give a variety of choices. E.g.: neatly sliced bananas topped with raisins & almonds.
• Keep chewing. A study reveals that the greater the times you chew almonds, the greater you feel fuller. This is a smart trick rite!
Highly successful people breed success by following good habits. I must accept the fact that it takes discipline, courage and determination on a daily basis to keep those habits in place. It makes perfect sense to adopt new habits that will facilitate our wellbeing, isn’t it? So, why hesitate to start a healthy good habit and become healthy snack nerds.
